  1. Dr. Scott Weisberg is a general practitioner that is trans-supportive and LGBTQ friendly!

  2. I saw Dr. Weisberg the day after my 20th birthday. My hope was to get a prescription for testosterone. Weisberg had a medical intern shadowing him the day I saw him; neither of them used the correct pronouns or asked me what my correct name was. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to use gels or injections, but as soon as Weisberg started talking, I could see that he wasn’t going to give me the option to choose. He told me that he only prescribes gels and only to patients that are 21 or older. So after I waited two hours in an empty waiting room first thing in the morning, it turned out to be a completely wasted visit.

  3. Dr. Weisburg is patient and very sweet. It may take a moment to see him because he spends as much time as necessary with his patients. But, unlike a doc-in-the-box, his care is catered to meet your specific needs. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an LGBTQ affirming doctor in the Magic City – especially a trans person seeking quality care.

  4. The Magic City Wellness Center (MCWC) is a program of BAO (Birmingham AIDS Outreach). It opened in January 2016 as Alabama’s first LGBTQ Wellness Center. MCWC provides primary care services including Hormone Replacement Therapy. MCWC is open to all LGBTQ individuals and their allies. The provider is Dr. Scott Weisberg, formerly of “Homewood Family Medicine”. MCWC accept most major insurance plans as well as private pay. The center’s website is AND

  5. Magic City Wellness Center is Alabama’s FIRST and ONLY primary care facility focused on the health and well being of the entire LGBTQ community. They offer primary care in a welcoming, accepting and affirming environment. The staff takes pride in making sure your visit with your provider is the best it can be from start to finish. When you feel welcome and relaxed you are more open in being honest with your provider without fear of judgment or retaliation. They accept most insurance and also offer self pay options for services such as HRT, PrEP consultations and regular wellness services. In addition to primary care they have 2 in house massage therapists and can provide resources for free HIV/STD testing through Birmingham AIDS Outreach and Counseling services with affirming licensed counselors through the Magic City Acceptance Center.
