Matsuya has been my go-to restaurant for sushi for several years now. Be it for first dates, friend dates, or just a fun night of sushi and BYOB, the staff has always been friendly and accepting. Besides the delicious food (they offer an assortment of Japanese cuisine in addition to sushi), the atmosphere is usually more than just polite; they seem genuinely glad that you have come. The staff is friendly and the service is excellent, and they never seem to bat an eye at any of their guests, regardless of their race, sexuality, gender, etc.
Every experience I’ve had there has been excessively positive, and I want to direct more of the LGBT community’s sushi dollars there – especially considering its proximity to Boystown.
