St Vincient’s East provided for a wonderful birthing experience for us. We went through Eastern ObGyn, their Labor & Delivery department and our son was in the NICU for two weeks and the whole experience was positive. They offer a “maternity monogram” service where you thoroughly discuss birthing wishes and they will add to the file “LGBT friendly nurses only” so that you are not stuck with a crazy person. At the time (June 3 2015) it wasn’t legal for me to be put on the birth certificate yet but the woman in charge of the Maternity Monogram service and the social worker explained to me in detail how to have the certificate amended once the ruling was finalized. They were all wonderful and recognized me fully as the second parent even though I couldn’t be on the birth certificate.
