  1. My wife and I had our wedding reception here, and it was as phenomenal as expected! We love the staff; everyone is accommodating and helpful, from the planning to the night of. We could plan the night a million times and I don’t think we’d ever think of choosing another place because of the people and its decor. In fact, I had a birthday bash last year at The Thaxton (to celebrate my “1st” birthday as my authentic self) and the wedding reception still felt fancy and special as ever! Plus, every guest has raved about it!!!

The Thaxton is definitely LGBT friendly. I’m a lesbian transgender woman – so I’m part of two of those letters – and I have never felt uncomfortable or unwelcome. I’ve felt the nothing but positivity and therefore find the staff simply wonderful!

Basically, The Thaxton is wonderfully run and the pictures show how amazing its flare and style are. If your guest list fits, I can’t imagine anyone ever having a bad experience it. A+ and a million stars for The Thaxton – it will always have a special place in my heart!! <3

  2. The space is beautiful, the staff is friendly and you won’t have to stress about anything. From day one I felt at ease in the Thaxton and their eagerness to make our special day perfect. Peter was a great help and come the day of our event we didn’t have to worry about a thing. If I had to do it over again I’d pick the Thaxton every time. It was perfect.

  3. Everyone at the Thaxton was so wonderful to work with. They followed up and made sure that everything was ready to go for our big party and when the day actually came, it felt effortless. I literally felt like all I did was show up and have an amazing time. The space is beautiful and the staff obviously knows what they are doing and care about your experience. Finding a place where you and your partner can go and feel welcomed is a huge part of making sure you’re comfortable and at ease. I can’t think of a better place and my wife and I are forever grateful!

  4. I attended a party for my dear friends, celebrating their union this last Sunday night. I was blown away by the decor, ambiance and vibe within and beyond your beautiful venue. The staff was attentive and friendly. I wish we lived in St Louis so we could use the Thaxton for a special occasion. Thanks again for a wonderful experience!

  5. The venue was outstanding to work with. They answered our questions and worked within our budget limitations. The venue is beautiful and everyone was willing to accommodate our needs throughout the entire experience. I was sad to leave and want to plan many functions at the location in the future. Thank you for helping us make sound choice’s and for making the evening a complete success. You are Rock Stars!!

  6. The Thaxton was great at planning our wedding Reception. Jim and I got married in DC. We wanted our family and friends to celebrate with us. We chose the Thaxton because it was the most Unique Venue in all of Saint Louis. Kim and her team worked out every detail. They provided us with a wine and food tasting. She even went out of the way to work with our favorite Brewery to get a cag to be served at the bar. It was great. Our family is still talking about the party and how fun it was. The ally entrance was the most entertaining experience for all our guest. (make sure you have a great password picked out) Every detail was planned out perfectly. The night of our reception Kim and her team was there to make sure all transitions went smoothly. The DJ made the the Thaxton HOP.
Jim and I did not want the night to end.

Thanks to Kim and the Thaxton, We had the best night of our lives.

    Thank you

    Josh and Jim

  7. My husband and I had our wedding reception at The Thaxton. I knew this was the place the SECOND we walked in. In fact, it was the first place on our list of venues to look at, and we didn’t even go anywhere else. We booked it right then and there.

The venue has two and a half levels. The Speakeasy (lower level) was where the main bar (BEAUTIFUL, full service with everything imaginable) was and where the band set up. Most people spent their time down there. We had the food and a few tables on the main floor, and then a second bar on the mezzanine (half level). People could party and dance in the speakeasy or go chat some place more quiet on the main level or mezzanine.

Planning with Kim was a breeze. Ultra responsive and very flexible. They even let us in on a Saturday to take some engagement pictures!

The night of the reception, Kim and her business partner were there to make sure everything went off without a hitch…and it did. The night was PERFECT. They even opened a second bar to accommodate overflow at the last minute. They also made sure my husband and I always had a drink (if we wanted one :)).

If you’re looking for a classy, unique place with excellent service, where you don’t need to decorate but for a few table center pieces, GO TO THE THAXTON.

Oh yeah – and the moonshine isn’t to bad either…

  8. The Thaxton Building is an elegant, unique, and historic Art Deco venue, located in the heart of downtown St. Louis. We have been honored to be host to numerous LGBT parties, unions, and receptions. And we are so excited to FINALLY become official in MO! Thank you U.S. District Judge Ortrie Smith!

If you are looking for looking for the perfect spot to tie the knot (or throw a party,) why not choose a location as unique and historically significant as you?
