I attended a wedding at The Wit Hotel this past February. Let me start out by saying, I am still dreaming of this experience…I am currently planning my own wedding, and part of me wishes I would have just done it at The Wit!
The location of The Wit in itself made the experience memorable. The ceremony was in a gorgeous room full of windows overlooking the city. There’s something about the light of the Chicago Theatre gleaming in through the windows that I just adore. Our friends hardly even needed decorations – the view was enough! From personal experience, decorations alone can get pricey, so in my eyes this (location) was a huge plus!
I have to say that I am generally pretty disappointed in wedding food. I am a caterer myself and the meal I had at this wedding was not only the best wedding food I’ve ever had, but, it was one of the best meals I’ve had in Chicago…period.
The appetizers were inventive and chic. Shrimp with a pipette full of cocktail sauce, goat cheese and beet mousse “push-pops”, etc. Many “oohs and ahs” filling the room. Another huge plus!
Dinner was a hit. We started with a delicious winter squash soup, A prosciutto wrapped salad with Caesar dressing, and a generous portion of SHORT RIBS over polenta! This is the first wedding meal I’ve ever remembered and still talk about.
This venue is indeed stellar. If you’re looking to impress your guests with incredible food and an all around wonderful evening, I HIGHLY recommend The Wit!
