In 1984 Eric spent 3 months overseas backpacking diverse Europe. After visiting a dozen cultures, It became clear to him that just enough is plenty and a simple life would be a great reward. As of today he has visited 5 continents, recently retired from American Express, and is planning Australia/NZ for 2018. Engaged since 1996, Eric and his husband were married at the The First African Church on Cumberland Island, Georgia on their 20th Anniversary, Sept 3rd, 2015.

Fun fact about Eric: In honor of his grandfather’s birth on what would have been his 100th, he hiked Japan’s Mt fuji in honor of him.
